Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez is a Cuban politician and engineer who has served as the 8th First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and the top leader of Cuba since 2021. In 2019 he became the 17th president of Cuba and was president of the Council of State from 2018 until 2019.
