Enes Kanter Freedom

Enes Kanter Freedom is a Turkish and American former professional basketball player and human rights activist who played 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in Switzerland to parents from Turkey, he was raised in Turkey and moved to the United States as a teenager. Freedom was selected as the third overall pick of the 2011 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz, and primarily played the center position. He is known for his "freedom shoes" and outspoken criticism of human rights abuses in China, particularly the treatment of Uyghurs and the use of forced labor. He has also spoken about Turkey, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela.
